Meet Ed McCormick, Regional Innovation Officer

The Lone Star Cyber Forge is positioning South Texas as the global epicenter for cybersecurity and advanced manufacturing technologies.

In response to the growing cybersecurity risks that threaten our country’s digital manufacturing landscape, the Cyber Forge brings together a diverse group of stakeholders from industry, academia, government, and economic development organizations to develop and deploy innovative solutions to operational users, securing U.S. manufacturers for decades.

The Cyber Forge is the proud recipient of a 2023 Tech Hub Strategy Development Grant through the Economic Development Agency (EDA). Through strategic planning, targeted investments, and collaborative efforts, we are creating a thriving ecosystem that attracts businesses, creates high-quality jobs, and ensures the region’s long-term competitiveness in the global manufacturing landscape.

MISSION

We will lead our partners to advance cybersecurity and secure manufacturing through innovation, technology transfer, and workforce development. We will create an ecosystem that fosters innovation, collaboration, and economic growth by bridging the gap between cutting-edge research and real-world applications.

VISION

Establish South Texas as a world-leading cybersecurity and secure manufacturing hub, driving global innovation, economic resilience, and technological excellence through collaboration, education, and cutting-edge advancements.

MEET ED MCCORMICK

Leading the Lone Star Cyber Forge is Ed McCormick, our Regional Innovation Officer, who serves as the driving force behind our mission and the primary point of contact for our partners, stakeholders, and the community.

McCormick is a seasoned executive leader with more than 25 years of success in driving strategic initiatives and delivering impactful results through highly effective management and program leadership. He brings an ability to continually evolve and learn, as evidenced by three successful phases of career, with a common through line of developing people and meeting mission objectives with on-time and measurable results.

McCormick began career as a U.S. Air Force Officer as a certified test pilot engineer, mastered the art of creating strategy and running programs and projects for government and private sector companies, and then grew into leading teams and functions.
